Custom Cast Iron Radiators

Every Paladin radiator is custom. There's no off-the-shelf product sitting in a warehouse waiting to ship. You choose the model, the height, the section count, the colour and the finish. We hand-assemble and finish it at our Lincolnshire factory and deliver it to your door. Custom cast iron radiators don't have to mean expensive or slow. They mean exactly what you need, made properly.

What custom cast iron radiator options do we offer?

Every model in our cast iron radiators range is available as a bespoke cast iron radiator. Choose your style first, then configure the dimensions and finish. For help specifying the right model and size for your room, our radiator configurator works out the BTU output you need before you build the spec.

What can be customised on a cast iron radiator?

More than most customers expect. Here's what you control when you order a custom cast iron radiator from Paladin.

Section count: From 3 to 40 sections per radiator (even longer sizes available on request). This determines the width of the radiator and the total heat output. More sections mean more width and more BTUs.

Height: Every model comes in multiple height options. The Pimlico is available in 460mm, 660mm or 760mm. The Neo Georgian 4 Column in five heights from 360mm to 960mm. Choose the height that fits your wall space and the BTU output your room needs.

Column depth: 2, 3, 4 or 6 columns depending on the model. Deeper columns give more surface area per section and higher output. Shallower columns suit tight wall depths and lower output requirements.

Colour and finish: Any colour. Standard Paladin palette. Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Edward Bulmer. RAL and BS codes accepted. Bespoke colour match from any paint sample. Hand polishing in industrial, burnished, hand polished, satin polished or mirror polished finishes.

Valves and accessories: Choose your valve style and finish to complete the installation. Thermostatic and manual valve sets in antique brass, antique copper, brushed nickel, chrome, black nickel and more.

A cast iron style radiator is typically a pressed steel radiator designed to look like cast iron, produced in fixed sizes with limited finish options. A genuine custom cast iron radiator from Paladin is cast from real iron at our dedicated foundry and hand-assembled at our Lincolnshire factory, configured to your exact dimensions and finished in any colour. The heat retention, the material and the build quality are fundamentally different.

Art Nouveau style cast iron radiators are available in the UK. The Montpellier originates from France in the late 1890s at the height of the Art Nouveau movement and is cast at our dedicated foundry, then hand-assembled at our Lincolnshire factory. It ships nationwide with a 10-year guarantee.
Are vintage Art Nouveau cast iron radiators available?

Genuine vintage Art Nouveau cast iron radiators from the period (approximately 1890 to 1910) are available through architectural salvage dealers but typically need significant refurbishment before use. The Paladin Montpellier gives you the same period decorative character, built new in the UK with a 10-year guarantee and no restoration costs.
Are old school cast iron radiators still made?

Yes, old school style cast iron radiators are still made. Paladin casts ornate period-style models at our dedicated foundry and hand-assembles them at our Lincolnshire factory, recreating the decorative cast iron character of the school and civic building radiators of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Montpellier and Oxford are the closest equivalents in our range.
Are original cast iron radiators better than new Art Nouveau style ones?

Yes, repainting old cast iron radiators is a sensible way to restore them if the structure is sound and pressure-tested.
