The Montpellier Old Style Cast Iron Radiator

Not every pattern needs to be grand to make an impression. The Montpellier proves that with a delicate daisy and ribbon design that flows from the foot of the radiator right up to the top. It’s sometimes known as the “daisy radiator” for that reason. Its origins lie in France in the late 1890s, and we’ve kept that same detailing in every Montpellier we cast. Hand built at our factory in Lincolnshire, this old style radiator comes with a 10 year guarantee as standard.

An Old Style Radiator With a Softer Touch

Why choose the Montpellier over something plainer, or something more heavily ornamented? Because it sits somewhere between the two. The pattern is intricate enough to catch the eye, but it never tips into the busier, more elaborate detailing you’d find on a design like the Saint Paul.

That makes it a good fit as a centrepiece in a room where you want charm rather than drama. A period bedroom, a hallway or a sitting room all suit it well.

The finish matters here more than most. A hand painted highlight or a hand polish effect both help bring the daisy pattern forward, so it catches the light rather than sitting flat under a single block colour.

Available Heights

Two heights are available, so you can match the Montpellier to your room.

  • 590mm: a shorter option suited to most standard sized rooms.
  • 790mm: a taller option, giving the daisy pattern more room to run and increasing heat output for larger spaces.

Available Columns

Sections run from 3 up to 40, so the Montpellier can be built to whatever length your wall allows. Even longer sizes are available on request.

  • Compact, 3 to 10 columns: works well as a feature piece in a smaller room.
  • Mid range, 11 to 25 columns: suited to living rooms and larger bedrooms.
  • Extended, 26 to 40 columns: built for larger period rooms or longer runs of wall.

Each added column carries the daisy pattern straight through, so the design stays consistent whatever length you choose.
