The Benefits of Customising with our Farrow & Ball Radiator Paint Range

When it comes to decorating, your radiators shouldn’t be ignored. Fitting luxurious cast iron radiators from Paladin can elevate the look and feel of your home, and we also have a range of finishes that can help your radiator blend seamlessly into any room.

Our Farrow & Ball radiator paint is extremely popular and is available in more than 130 shades. The paint is renowned for being durable and high quality, and the rich colour ensures your radiators look stylish and fresh. Whether you want earthy greens, vibrant yellows or feminine pinks, there’s a shade to suit all aesthetics.

Farrow & Ball paints are designed and formulated to maintain their colour and finish even when exposed to the heat generated by radiators. They’re known for their durability and longevity. Once applied, they create a hard-wearing finish that can withstand everyday wear and tear, including cleaning and occasional knocks or scratches. They are made with high-quality ingredients, including finely ground pigments and natural resins. This results in an exceptional depth of colour, richness and a luxurious finish.

They are formulated to have low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are harmful chemicals that can be released into the air during painting and contribute to indoor air pollution. Using low VOC paints is beneficial for both your health and the environment.

One of Farrow & Ball’s most popular paint colours is ‘Elephants breath’ which we offer at Paladin. If you have this beautiful warm grey shade on your walls at home, opt for a Farrow & Ball elephant breath paint finish and your cast iron radiator will match beautifully.

If a paint finish doesn’t suit your aesthetic, try our hand polishing options, from rustic and industrial looks ideal for studio flats and barn constructions, to mirror finishes that you can check your lipstick in. We have a range of polished finishes to suit all styles.

You’ll be pleased to know that painted cast iron radiators require very little effort in terms of maintenance. However, a little can go a long way in preserving its appearance and efficiency.

Just like dust accumulates on surfaces such as window sills around your home, it can also settle on your radiator. Use a soft cloth or a duster to gently wipe away dust and debris. This can be done as often as needed, depending on how often you dust your home.

If the radiator is in a high-traffic area such as a hallway and is subject to mud splatters from the dog and sticky marks from young children, you can clean it with a mixture of mild soap and water. Dampen a soft cloth with soapy water and gently wipe down the surface of the radiator. Be sure to rinse the cloth well and avoid using abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the paint.

Moisture can lead to unsightly rust. Try to keep the area around the radiator dry and well-ventilated. If you notice any leaks or excessive moisture buildup, address them promptly to prevent damage to the radiator. You should also avoid hanging wet clothes on your radiator to dry.

Bleed your radiator before the weather starts to cool – this ensures they’re working as efficiently as possible when you need them.
